It is definitely happening across the board. Our district just finished an audit and the manager was looking for literally anything to write up. They checked the backroom organization and shelf stocking with a level of scrutiny I haven't seen in years. Everyone feels like they are just waiting for a reason to justify cutting our payroll even further. It is exhausting trying to keep up with these impossible standards while the store is falling apart, but corporate clearly has a target on our hours.
Honestly, I stopped caring. If they want to come in and nitpick every little detail while we are severely understaffed, let them. I’ve been through three of these 'reviews' this month alone and it’s always the same script—they ignore the actual issues like broken equipment and focus on trivial merchandising errors. It’s clearly a tactic to pressure us into quitting so they can restructure. Keep your head down, do the bare minimum to pass, and don't let their manufactured stress get to you.
