Hang in there. It's completely understandable to be worried right now, especially with all the whispers going around. Six years is a significant commitment, and you deserve to know what to expect. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any official details about severance for a situation like this at Dollar Tree. My best advice is to start mentally preparing for the worst by updating your resume and networking now, just in case. It's always better to be proactive.
Honestly, I'm not holding my breath for a generous severance package. Dollar Tree has always been about tight margins, and I doubt that's changed. In previous reorgs, people mostly just got their unused vacation time paid out, if that. They might offer a week or two per year of service, but don't expect a bonus. Start looking for other jobs ASAP if you're really concerned. It's a tough market out there.
