It is not just your department. This has become the standard operating procedure across the company lately. They love to push the 'efficiency' narrative during town halls while ignoring the fact that the actual boots-on-the-ground staff are drowning. Seeing the executives congratulate themselves on earnings calls while we are pulling 60-hour weeks just to keep the lights on is infuriating. Don’t wait for them to notice the burnout—protect your own mental health and look for an exit, because this culture is clearly baked into the current leadership strategy.
I hear you loud and clear. The disconnect between the corporate office and the reality of the field work is wider than it has ever been. They are squeezing every drop of productivity out of us to keep the shareholders happy, but it is completely unsustainable long-term. You can only cut so many heads before the foundation starts to crack. It is unfortunate because there is a lot of talent walking out the door, but until there is a major shift in management priorities, they will just keep finding ways to squeeze us harder.
