Is the Richmond office feeling the heat yet?

With the latest WARN notice for December hitting the radar, I’m curious if anyone has a pulse on which departments are actually being gutted. The 50-person cut seems like a drop in the bucket for a company this size, but we all know how this usually starts. Is this just trimming the fat in administrative roles, or are we looking at core ops getting hit too? I’ve heard whispers about the shift toward more automation and less overhead, but nobody in management is saying a word during the town halls. Everyone is just keeping their heads down and looking at the door. If you’re in a support role or non-regulated part of the business, are you feeling safer or nervous? Trying to decide if I should start updating the resume now before the Q1 bloodbath happens.

The town halls have become a complete joke. They keep talking about 'efficiency' and 'streamlining operations,' but we all know that’s just corporate-speak for cutting the people who actually keep the grid running. My department has seen three people leave in the last month, and nobody is backfilling those roles. It feels like they are slowly bleeding us dry to make the quarterly numbers look better for the shareholders. Everyone is nervous, and the lack of transparency is making the morale in Richmond hit an all-time low.

Honestly, don't buy into the idea that this is just 'administrative fat' being trimmed. If you look at the recent shifts, it’s clearly about cutting long-term staff to replace them with contractors and automated workflows. It’s a classic move: scale back the headcount, push the remaining team members to pick up the slack, and call it 'innovation.' If you are waiting for management to give you a straight answer, you’re going to be waiting a long time. Keep your resume updated and watch your back, because nobody here is as safe as they think they are.
