Anyone else notice the lack of R&D momentum lately?

Is it just me, or has the vibe at HQ shifted significantly over the last month? Usually, this time of year we’re heads-down prepping for the next big menu rollout or tech integration, but everything feels weirdly stagnant. I’ve heard whispers about some departments having their project budgets 're-evaluated' despite the earnings call sounding relatively optimistic. I’ve been through a few cycles here, and this feels like the classic pre-restructuring quiet before the storm. People are keeping their heads down, but the hallways are ghost towns. Has anyone heard anything about potential consolidation or headcount reductions coming down the pipe for Q1? Just trying to figure out if I need to dust off the resume before the holiday rush hits.

I’ve noticed it too. The innovation pipeline feels like it’s hit a brick wall. We used to push out tech updates and menu experiments like clockwork, but lately, it’s just crickets. Every time I bring up a new project idea, I’m met with blank stares or told to 'hold off' until the next fiscal quarter. It’s hard to stay motivated when it feels like we’re just maintaining the status quo instead of pushing the brand forward. If they’re planning a restructure, they’re doing a great job of making everyone paranoid in the meantime.

Honestly, the atmosphere is pretty bleak right now. I’ve been hearing the same rumors about the budget re-evaluations, and it’s definitely taking the wind out of everyone’s sails. It’s frustrating because Domino's built its reputation on being agile and tech-forward, but this current stagnation makes us look like we're just coasting. Whatever is happening behind closed doors, it’s trickling down to the teams. It feels less like a quiet period and more like we’re being prepped for layoffs. I’m just waiting for the other shoe to drop.
