Anyone else feeling super anxious about potential layoffs?

I've been at DoorDash for almost 4 years now, in the engineering org, and the general vibe lately has me on edge. There's been a lot of talk about 'restructuring' in leadership meetings, and hiring has definitely slowed down. My manager is being super vague whenever I ask about project roadmaps for next quarter. Anyone else feeling this? Is it time to dust off the resume?

Yep, feeling the same way. I'm in a different department but experiencing the same radio silence from management regarding future plans. The 'restructuring' buzzword is never a good sign. Four years is a solid chunk of time, and it's understandable to feel anxious. I'd say start passively looking at other opportunities just to get a sense of what's out there. Better to be prepared than caught off guard.

Honestly, this kind of anxiety is pretty standard in big tech, *especially* after hyper-growth phases. DoorDash exploded during the pandemic; a correction was always likely. Take a deep breath. Unless you have concrete reasons to believe your performance is subpar, chances are you're fine. Focus on doing your job well and documenting your accomplishments. Worrying won't change anything, but demonstrable value will.
