Anyone else notice a huge dip in order volume lately?

Seriously, I've been dashing for about 2 years now, mostly in a pretty busy suburban area, and the last couple of weeks have been painfully slow. Like, seriously slow. I used to be able to pull in decent money even on a Tuesday night, but now I'm lucky if I get 2-3 decent orders an hour. I'm not talking about those $3 no-tip nightmares, I mean actual orders that are worth my time and gas. Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm wondering if it's just a seasonal thing, or if something bigger is going on. Maybe people are cutting back on takeout because of the economy? Or maybe DoorDash is changing something on their end, throttling order volume or something? It's making it really hard to rely on this as a consistent income stream. Thinking about picking up another gig, but this was supposed to be my main hustle. Anyone got any insights or similar experiences?

Yeah, I've definitely noticed it too. It's been rough the past month or so. I thought maybe it was just my area, but it sounds like a widespread issue. I'm seeing way fewer offers pop up, and the ones that do are often incredibly low pay. Makes you wonder what's going on behind the scenes. I've had to drive around a lot more just to find a decent run, and even then, the earnings aren't what they used to be. Hoping it picks back up soon.

Completely agree. It's been dead out here lately. I'm in a pretty populated city, and usually, there are always orders flying, but now it's like crickets. The app barely shows anything worth accepting, and when it does, it's a race against a dozen other drivers. It's frustrating because I rely on this for extra income, and this slowdown is really impacting my ability to make ends meet. I've seen discussions about customer demand potentially dropping off, or maybe DoorDash is just pushing more drivers onto the platform than we actually need.
