Seriously, what's going on with DoorDash's strategy?

Between the increasing competition in the delivery space and the general economic downturn, I'm genuinely trying to understand the long-term plan here. We keep pushing for growth, but at what cost? Are we overextending? The recent news about other tech companies making cuts, even if not confirmed for us yet, is definitely on my mind. It feels like the honeymoon phase for delivery apps might be over, and companies are going to have to really justify their headcount and spending. It's hard to stay positive when you see these trends. Anyone else feeling this disconnect between the company narrative and the on-the-ground reality? Am I just being paranoid or is this a valid concern for anyone else working here?

I agree, the growth-at-all-costs approach feels unsustainable. We're seeing established players and new entrants fighting for market share, and with consumer spending tightening, the margins are probably thinner than ever. It makes sense to be cautious about expansion and focus on profitability. The 'honeymoon' is definitely over; it's time for a solid business model.

It's a fair question. The landscape has shifted dramatically. While expansion is good, it needs to be strategic and financially sound. The economic climate demands a focus on efficiency and value. I'm hoping the leadership has a clear roadmap that prioritizes long-term stability over short-term gains, especially given the broader tech sector trends.
