Trying to prep for interviews during this uncertainty

Been with DD for 5 years, in a senior analyst role. The constant chatter about layoffs has me seriously spooked, even though nothing is confirmed. I've started dusting off my resume and doing some practice interviews, but it's hard to focus when you're constantly looking over your shoulder. Anyone else in a similar boat? Any tips for interviewing when you're mentally checked out from your current role due to stress? I'm trying to keep my skills sharp but it feels like a losing battle when the rug could be pulled out any day.

Hang in there. I was in a similar situation at a previous company that was going through a lot of restructuring rumors. It's incredibly draining. The best advice I can give is to try and compartmentalize. When you're working, focus on your tasks, do your best. When you're prepping for interviews, dedicate specific blocks of time to that. It's easier said than done, but actively separating the two can help prevent the anxiety from completely taking over. Keep practicing, your skills are probably sharper than you think.

Honestly, I wouldn't stress too much about the layoff rumors unless there's concrete evidence. Companies always have 'chatter.' Focus on doing your current job well and leverage that experience for interviews. If you're good at your senior analyst role with 5 years at DoorDash, that's a solid foundation. I'd spend more time polishing your LinkedIn and networking than constantly refreshing company news. Sometimes the best prep is just being ready when an opportunity naturally arises.
