Has anyone seen an uptick in 'strategic realignments' lately?

Is it just me, or has leadership been dropping more buzzwords about 'efficiency' and 'streamlining' in the last few weeks? It feels like every town hall meeting is just a different variation of the same script. I’ve noticed a lot more closed-door meetings in the regional offices, and the usual transparency we get on project funding seems to have evaporated. I haven't heard anything concrete about a RIF, but the vibe is shifting. Management seems to be moving people around like chess pieces without explaining the logic. It’s hard to stay focused on quarterly deliverables when you’re constantly wondering if your department is the next one slated for an 'optimization.' Has anyone in the business units heard anything about budget freezes or hiring pauses that aren't being broadcasted company-wide yet? Really hoping this is just the usual corporate anxiety, but the silence from HR feels a bit heavy this month.

Same thing happened right before the last round of cuts. Once you start hearing 'synergy' and 'strategic realignment' every other sentence, it’s usually time to dust off the resume. The secrecy around project funding is the biggest red flag; they wouldn't lock those details away if the numbers actually looked good. Don't wait for an official announcement to start networking. Pay attention to the sudden scheduling of those 'emergency' syncs on everyone's calendars.
