Anyone else tired of the 'pivot' excuses?

I’m honestly at my wit's end with the corporate doublespeak. We get hit with another massive round of cuts—174 people this time, following that huge 20% chunk earlier—and the internal comms basically act like we should be excited about the 'streamlined' future. It feels incredibly tone-deaf to tell the survivors to lean in when we’re all terrified that we’re next on the chopping block. Are we actually building anything new, or are we just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic? Every quarter it’s a new 'strategic priority' and then a fresh round of layoffs when it doesn't immediately fix the stock price. I see people commenting on HN about how tech layoffs are slowing down, but looking at our internal org charts, it’s just carnage. I’ve started updating my resume, but honestly, what’s the point? Even the roles that are open seem like they’re just placeholder positions that’ll be cut in six months anyway. Does anyone actually have a positive outlook on where this ship is headed, or are we all just waiting for our turn to get the calendar invite from HR?

It is exhausting to watch leadership hide behind jargon while people lose their livelihoods. When they use terms like 'streamlining' or 'pivoting,' it is just a mask for their lack of a coherent long-term strategy. The reality is that the talent drain is real, and the morale of the people left behind is inevitably going to tank. It feels less like a strategic shift and more like a desperate attempt to satisfy shareholders by cutting costs because they have no actual growth plan left.

I have been feeling the exact same way lately. Every time a new memo hits the inbox with that sanitized, corporate-speak optimism, it just makes the environment feel even more toxic. It is impossible to focus on 'building for the future' when the goalposts keep moving and you're constantly looking over your shoulder. Honestly, it feels like they are just bleeding the company dry to maximize short-term metrics. At this point, the lack of transparency is the most frustrating part of the whole situation.
