Feeling the pressure with this new 'efficiency' push?

Hey everyone, just checking in to see if it's just me or if others at Dropbox are feeling a general sense of unease lately? There's been a lot of talk internally about 'streamlining operations' and 'driving efficiency.' Honestly, it feels like a code word for something more. My team's been tasked with 're-evaluating' project scopes, and my manager is suddenly way more interested in utilization metrics than I've ever seen. It's making me nervous, especially with all the noise in the tech world lately. I'm trying not to jump to conclusions, but the vibe just feels off. Has anyone else gotten this memo, or is it just my department getting the 'efficiency' treatment? Wondering if this is leading up to something bigger or if it's just standard corporate speak for 'do more with less.' Just hoping for some clarity or at least some shared experience here. Trying to stay positive but it's tough when you feel like your role is being subtly questioned.

Yeah, I'm definitely feeling it too. The 'efficiency' talk is constant, and it's hard to shake the feeling that something's up. Suddenly every meeting feels like an interrogation about how 'productive' we are. It's creating a pretty stressful atmosphere, and frankly, it's making it harder to actually get good work done when you're constantly looking over your shoulder.

You're not alone. The 'streamlining' rhetoric has been getting louder around here for a while now. It's like they're trying to squeeze more out of us without actually investing in us. The focus on metrics feels less about improvement and more about finding reasons to cut. It’s a tough climate, and the general tech layoffs aren’t exactly easing anyone’s mind.
