Is the talent acquisition freeze real?

So, I've been keeping an eye on open roles within Dropbox, and it feels like the hiring pipeline has gone completely dry. We usually have a steady stream of new positions opening up, especially in engineering and product. But for the last couple of months, it's been crickets. Even internal transfers seem to be on hold. I overheard some chatter in a cross-functional meeting about a 'hiring pause' to 'optimize resources,' but nothing concrete. Could this be a precursor to something more serious down the line? Or is this just standard practice after a period of growth? Curious if recruiters or anyone on the hiring side can shed some light on what's happening. It feels like a significant shift from how things were even six months ago. Worried about job security if we're not bringing in new talent and potentially downsizing.
