Duke Energy: Anyone else feeling the pressure lately?

Hey everyone, been with Duke for a few years now in [mention general department, e.g., operations/IT/engineering]. Lately, it feels like there's a strange undercurrent. Management's been throwing around terms like 'efficiency improvements' and 'streamlining operations' more than usual. Meetings seem a bit more tense, and there's less clarity on long-term projects. I haven't heard any concrete rumors or seen any official announcements, but the vibe just feels... off. Is anyone else picking up on this? Are there specific teams or divisions that seem more impacted by this 'optimization' talk? Just trying to gauge if this is a company-wide thing or if I'm just in a pocket of uncertainty. Curious to hear if others are seeing similar things or if it's just my imagination running wild. Stay safe out there.

I'm in the customer service side of things, and while I haven't felt direct pressure from management, the call volume has been consistently high, and customers are definitely more agitated about pricing and service disruptions. It's hard not to feel the strain when you're on the front lines dealing with frustration day in and day out. We're hearing a lot of the same buzzwords about efficiency, but it mostly translates to doing more with less on our end. Definitely feeling the weight of it all.

Totally getting the same vibe over in fleet maintenance. We've seen a slowdown in approvals for new equipment and a push to extend the life of existing assets. The 'streamlining' talk feels like a prelude to something bigger, though nobody's spilling the beans. It's creating a bit of uncertainty, and frankly, it's making it harder to plan and execute our preventative maintenance schedules effectively. Hoping it's just a cyclical thing.
