Duke Energy: Performance reviews feel... different this year

Okay, so I just finished my annual performance review with Duke, and it felt a bit more intense and critical than usual. Normally, it's a good discussion about achievements and development goals. This time, there was a significant amount of time spent on 'areas for improvement,' even for tasks I thought I was doing well. The feedback felt more pointed, and there was a lot of emphasis on metrics and hitting specific targets that weren't as heavily stressed in previous years. It's making me nervous. I understand the need for accountability, but the tone felt less like 'how can we grow?' and more like 'are you meeting the baseline?' Is anyone else experiencing this with their reviews? It's making me wonder if there's an underlying reason for this shift in how performance is being evaluated. Maybe it's just standard corporate tightening, or maybe it's something else. Curious to hear if others are feeling this change in the review process.

I've noticed a shift too, though maybe not as stark as yours. It feels like there's more pressure to quantify everything, which can be good for clarity but also makes it harder to account for the less tangible aspects of our work. Maybe they're trying to align everyone more closely with overarching company goals? It's definitely something to keep an eye on and figure out how best to navigate.
