DuPont - Anyone else feeling the pressure? Seeing increased PIPs?

Hey everyone, Been hearing a lot of whispers around the office lately, and not the good kind. Seems like there's a definite uptick in Performance Improvement Plans being handed out across various departments. It's making people nervous, especially since we haven't had any official announcements about widespread layoffs or restructuring. Just wondering if others are seeing the same thing or if it's just my site/division. The vibe is definitely getting tense, and people are starting to polish up their resumes preemptively. Anyone have any insight into what might be driving this? Is this a precursor to something bigger, or just normal 'business as usual' with a slightly tighter grip? Curious to hear what others are experiencing or hearing through the grapevine.

Yeah, I've noticed a definite shift in atmosphere too. The unofficial word is that budgets are tighter than expected, and they're looking to trim fat wherever possible without making it obvious with mass layoffs. It feels like a very deliberate strategy to make people self-select out, or at least work harder under the threat of a PIP. It's creating a lot of anxiety, for sure. Makes you wonder what the long-term plan is.

It's not just you. My department has seen a couple of PIPs roll out in the last quarter, and the rumor mill is working overtime. People are stressed and looking over their shoulders. It's a tough environment when there's so much uncertainty. Management seems to be playing it very close to the chest, which only adds to the paranoia. Hoping for some clarity soon, but not holding my breath.
