Is leadership even steering the ship anymore?

I’ve been at Eastman for over a decade, and honestly, the direction feels nonexistent. It feels like every six months there’s another 'restructuring' announcement, and each time, they sell it as a way to become more agile. We all know what that actually means. The morale is in the basement. We're losing institutional knowledge because the people who actually know how to run these processes are being walked out the door, while middle management just keeps pushing 'synergy' slide decks. It’s impossible to plan a future here when you don't know if your department is going to exist by the end of the fiscal year. I’m tired of the vague corporate speak in the town halls. Just tell us the truth about the long-term plan so we can either stay and fight or start polishing our resumes. I’m officially done waiting for things to turn around.

I feel the exact same way. It is exhausting watching the company gut the talent that actually built this place just to chase short-term numbers for the shareholders. Every time we hear the word 'synergy,' I just start updating my resume because it never ends well for the employees on the ground floor. It feels like the folks at the top are completely detached from the reality of our daily operations.

You are spot on about the institutional knowledge loss. We are bleeding experience, and no amount of slick PowerPoint presentations about agility is going to fix the holes they are punching in our production capabilities. At this point, it is just survival mode. Management thinks they are optimizing, but they are really just dismantling the engine while the ship is still trying to cross the ocean.
