Just saw the WARN notice hit for 219 people at the NE site as of July 10th. This is the second wave this year if you count the whisper network rumors from back in March. My manager has been acting weirdly cagey during our 1:1s all week, constantly talking about 'optimizing operational efficiency' and 'realignment.' We all know what that corporate speak translates to. Is anyone else in the other regional hubs seeing similar calendar invites getting blocked off? I’ve been here six years and the atmosphere is the worst I’ve ever seen. The talent retention strategy is officially dead. If you’re at the NE plant, I’m really sorry—this whole 'restructuring' narrative is getting old and exhausting for those of us left looking over our shoulders.

Standard operating procedure for Eaton at this point. They’ve been tightening the screws across all regions for months, and 'operational efficiency' is just the flavor of the month for budget cuts. I wouldn't hold your breath for transparency from leadership—they treat these RIFs like state secrets until the security guards show up at your desk. If your manager is being cagey, start polishing that resume immediately. The writing is on the wall, and the second wave is usually just the start of a long summer of 'realignment' announcements.
