Anyone else seeing the 'restructuring' emails spread beyond NE?

It’s been a rough week since the WARN notice dropped for the 219 folks in Nebraska. I’m hearing rumblings that this isn't just site-specific and that leadership is planning to roll out similar 'efficiency measures' across other divisions before Q4. My manager has been acting incredibly cagey during 1:1s, refusing to confirm if our team's headcount is stable for the remainder of the year. The vibe in the office is toxic right now—everyone is looking over their shoulder and refreshing the internal portal to see who is still on the directory. Does anyone have actual visibility on whether this is a localized purge or if the broader engineering org is being prepped for another round of cuts? It feels like we’re being drip-fed bad news to keep us from panicking all at once. If you’re at a site outside of NE, are you seeing hiring freezes or project cancellations? I’m seriously considering polishing up the resume tonight because I don't trust the 'business as usual' rhetoric coming from the VP levels.

The uncertainty is definitely spreading. I’ve heard whispers from colleagues in the Midwest division that HR is holding closed-door meetings behind schedule all week. It feels like the Nebraska layoffs were just the opening act for a much broader strategy. My department is currently on a total hiring freeze, and leadership has gone completely silent regarding our Q4 targets. Everyone is polishing their resumes just in case, because at this point, nobody trusts the 'efficiency' narrative coming from the top. It’s a waiting game now.

Honestly, stop waiting for transparency. When Eaton starts talking about 'synergies' and 'streamlining,' the writing is already on the wall. I went through a similar process at another location years ago, and the cagey behavior from management is a classic tell that the cuts are already finalized. If your manager won't look you in the eye about job security, assume the worst and start networking externally today. Don't fall for the corporate optimism; look out for your own interests before the next wave of notices hits your inbox.
