Eaton - Questions About Performance Reviews and Future Roles

So, performance review season is usually a bit stressful, but this year feels different at Eaton. Beyond the usual metrics, there's a lot of emphasis on 'adaptability' and 'future-proofing skills'. It feels less about my actual contributions and more about fitting into some undefined future need. I've heard whispers that some roles might be phased out or significantly altered in the coming year, especially in areas that are seen as less core to the company's next strategic phase. Anyone else getting this vibe during their reviews? Are managers being cagey about specific career paths or future opportunities? I'm starting to wonder if it's worth investing time in development for a role that might not exist in 12 months. Curious to hear if others are facing similar conversations or uncertainties.

I'm hearing similar things. The focus on adaptability is definitely a shift. It feels like they're trying to preemptively address the changing industry landscape, but it does create a bit of uncertainty for those of us wondering if our current skill sets will remain relevant. The 'whispers' about role changes are also concerning. I'm trying to stay positive and focus on developing new skills, but it's hard not to feel a little anxious about what the 'next strategic phase' actually means for my position.
