Thoughts on the vibe at HQ lately?

Feeling like the culture has shifted significantly over the last few months. It feels like every meeting is just 'do more with less' and the constant threat of these small, recurring layoffs is making it impossible to focus on long-term projects. I’m starting to wonder if the pivot in strategic direction is actually going to pay off or if we’re just cutting muscle at this point. Is anyone else noticing that headcount is being drained in areas that were supposed to be growth priorities? Would love to hear from people in other divisions—are you guys seeing the same instability or is it mostly contained to specific corporate functions in Santa Ana? Debating if it’s time to start polishing the resume before things get any tighter.

I've definitely noticed the same trend. It’s hard to stay motivated when you’re constantly looking over your shoulder. The shift from a culture of innovation to one of pure austerity is pretty palpable, especially in the R&D wings. I used to feel like we were working toward a mission, but now it feels like we’re just optimizing spreadsheets for the next quarterly report. It’s exhausting watching top talent walk out the door because we’re burning through the people who actually built the tech that made us leaders in the first place.

You're not imagining it. The 'do more with less' mantra has become a total morale killer. It’s confusing to hear leadership talk about growth in one breath and then slash headcount in those exact same departments in the next. It’s like they’re trying to build a plane while throwing the engine parts out the window mid-flight. I’m honestly just doing the bare minimum until I see a clearer plan, because right now, nobody seems to have a real grasp on where the ship is headed.
