Another layoff at EA, this time for 'growth'?

So, more layoffs at EA. This one apparently is to 'grow fandom'. I'm not sure I understand the logic. Cutting jobs to grow the player base seems counterintuitive. How does fewer people working lead to a better product or more engagement? This feels like the same old song and dance. They cite 'strategic realignment' or 'efficiency' or now 'growth'. It's frustrating to see talented people lose their jobs under these justifications. Did anyone here get impacted by this latest round? Curious to hear firsthand accounts if people are willing to share. It's disheartening to see this happening again, especially with the scale of the company. What are the actual reasons for these cuts, and why aren't they being transparent about it? Feels like we're just going through the motions.

It's incredibly disheartening to hear about more layoffs at EA. The justifications they use always seem so detached from the reality of the situation. 'Growth' through job cuts is a concept that truly boggles the mind. It's hard not to feel for the employees who are directly impacted by these decisions, especially when the reasoning feels so hollow. It makes you wonder about the long-term strategy when the short-term fix involves shrinking the workforce. Hoping for some clarity on how this is supposed to benefit anyone beyond the shareholders.
