Totally get it. Been there, done that (at another studio, thankfully). That constant low-grade anxiety is a creativity killer. Start polishing up your resume and portfolio, just in case. Network like crazy. Doesn't mean you're jumping ship, just being prepared. Knowledge is power, and having options, even if you don't use them, can ease the stress a bit. Good luck, hang in there!
Honestly, it's always like that in the gaming industry, isn't it? Big projects wrap up, things get quiet, rumors start flying. Eight years is a good run, though. Maybe it's time to seriously evaluate if EA is where you see yourself long-term. Senior artist is a solid title; you could probably land something comparable elsewhere, maybe even with better stability. Don't let the fear paralyze you into staying somewhere you're unhappy.
