Is anyone confident in leadership right now?

Seriously, am I the only one losing faith? I've been at EA for 7 years, started as an associate designer and worked my way up to senior level on the Battlefield team. Lately, all I see is a bunch of reactive decisions and chasing trends. It feels like they're more concerned with optics than actually making good games. How are we supposed to feel secure when the strategy seems to change every quarter? I'm not saying layoffs *are* coming, but the lack of clear direction makes it feel inevitable. Does anyone else feel this way, or am I just being overly cynical? Maybe I just need a vacation...

I hear you. Been here a similar amount of time, different department. The constant restructuring is exhausting. It's hard to stay motivated when you feel like you're building on sand. My advice? Document everything you do. Make sure your accomplishments are visible. That way, if things do go south, you have a strong case to make for your value.

Optics *are* everything. Sorry, but someone has to say it. Gaming is a business, and if the suits think NFTs or whatever the hell else is trending will make a quick buck, they'll chase it. Happens everywhere. Honestly, Battlefield hasn't exactly been knocking it out of the park lately either, so maybe some fresh blood and a different perspective are needed. Just sayin'.
