Is it just me or is the whole company culture shifting post-layoffs?

Been here 5 years, mostly in marketing at the Redwood Shores campus. Things felt... different after the June 23rd announcement. It's not just the empty desks, obviously. It feels like there's a lot more paranoia, people are way more hesitant to speak up in meetings, even on non-layoff topics. Some of the positive energy that used to be around project launches seems gone. Is anyone else feeling this? Like the fear of 'next' is palpable? Trying to understand if this is just my perception or if leadership is actively trying to change how we operate, and if so, why?

Yeah, I'm feeling it too. It's like everyone's walking on eggshells now. Used to be you could brainstorm freely, even joke around a bit, but now every idea feels scrutinized, like it might be the one that gets you noticed for the 'wrong' reasons. The trust just isn't there anymore. People are hoarding information, too, which is killing collaboration. It's a real bummer, especially when you genuinely love the games and the people you work with.

Honestly, a little paranoia after mass layoffs is pretty standard, isn't it? Companies restructure, and people get nervous. It's not necessarily about a 'culture shift' so much as a natural reaction to uncertainty. Focus on doing good work, meeting your targets, and building strong relationships with your immediate team. That's usually the best defense against any 'next' waves, whatever they might be.
