The timing here is absolutely callous. Nobody wants to deal with a layoff notice right before the holidays, but that’s the reality of corporate restructuring today. To those impacted in Charlottesville, please prioritize getting your own copies of your records and severance terms immediately. Do not leave your personal data behind or assume that IT will be helpful once your badge stops working. It is a harsh lesson in corporate loyalty, but you have to look out for yourself and your family above all else right now.
