Emerson: Any unofficial word on potential cuts?

Hey everyone, been lurking here for a bit. Seeing a lot of general economic unease out there and wanted to see if anyone at Emerson has heard anything, even whispers, about potential layoffs. Nothing concrete has come across my desk or my manager's, but the general vibe feels... uncertain. My department has been asked to be extra lean with resources, which is usually a good sign of efficiency, but in this climate, it also makes me a bit nervous. Anyone in different divisions experiencing similar things? Or perhaps has anyone heard anything from recruitment channels being quiet or internal hiring freezes? Just trying to gauge the temperature. Always appreciate the insights from this community.

I haven't heard anything specific about layoffs at Emerson, but I agree the economic climate is making everyone a little antsy. My team has also been told to watch spending very closely, which could mean a few things. It's probably wise to keep an eye on industry news and internal communications, but try not to let the uncertainty get to you too much. Stay focused on your work and doing a great job.

There have been some rumblings in certain areas, but nothing widespread that I'm aware of. The 'lean with resources' directive is pretty standard practice for many companies right now, aiming for efficiency rather than immediate cuts. It's understandable to be concerned, though. Keep your ears open and network with colleagues across different departments; sometimes information travels through informal channels. Hopefully, it's just a proactive measure.
