Stagnant comp despite the 'restructuring' narrative

I’ve been with Emerson for a while, and honestly, the direction we’re heading is baffling. We keep hearing about operational efficiency and streamlining, but it feels like the only thing being streamlined is our job security and our raises. We’re losing 300+ people in KY, and yet they expect the remaining folks to pick up the slack without a second thought. My performance review was solid, yet the bonus pool is a joke and my salary hasn't kept pace with inflation in three years. Does anyone else feel like we’re being squeezed to make the balance sheet look better for shareholders while the actual work environment craters? It’s getting hard to justify staying when the talent drain is this obvious. At what point does management realize that you can’t run an industrial giant purely on 'synergy' and cost-cutting while bleeding institutional knowledge? Just curious if anyone else has received the 'no budget for raises' speech lately, or if I’m just getting shafted individually.

Same boat here. The constant talk of transformation is just corporate speak for doing more with less while the compensation stays frozen. It’s draining to see the internal messaging about innovation while the reality is just slashing headcount and squeezing those left behind. The gap between leadership’s narrative and the actual day-to-day experience is wider than it has ever been. I’ve started looking elsewhere because the math simply doesn't add up anymore; they want top-tier output on bottom-tier salary adjustments.

You aren’t alone, though I’ve stopped expecting anything different. Emerson has pivoted so many times that the culture is barely recognizable. When they pull these restructuring plays, they always promise efficiency, but it just ends up being a demoralizing cycle of turnover and increased burnout for the survivors. If you’re hitting your targets and still getting ignored on pay, it’s a clear signal. Don't waste your energy trying to fix the machine—update your resume and find a place that actually values retention.
