Anyone else notice that even basic software licenses and hardware requests are getting kicked back for 'additional review' lately? It feels like the belt-tightening has started even if they haven't sent out the official notices yet. My manager keeps dodging questions about the Q4 budget, just saying they are 'waiting for guidance from corporate.' It’s the same pattern as before—they squeeze the OpEx to make the balance sheet look pristine, and then six weeks later, we get the meeting invite that could have been an email. I’m tired of the ambiguity. If there’s a plan to let people go, just rip the band-aid off so we can stop wasting time guessing. Being in the dark while they cut our operational tools is honestly the most stressful part of the job right now.

Honestly, it’s frustrating but completely predictable. We're getting squeezed on the front end while leadership pretends everything is fine behind closed doors. When you can't even get approval for basic hardware, it’s clear that the bean counters are prioritizing short-term optics over actual infrastructure. I’m just focused on keeping my head down and hitting my deliverables for now, but the lack of transparency is starting to wear on everyone in the department.
