Is the EL culture shift finally hitting us?

Is it just me, or has the vibe in the office turned incredibly toxic lately? I feel like I’m constantly looking over my shoulder. We keep hearing about 'profit improvement' and 'operational efficiency' from leadership, but every time those words get thrown around, it’s code for a gutting of the workforce. I’ve been here for a few years and I’ve never seen the pressure this high. We’re being asked to do the work of three people, and the push for 'innovation' is just making us run in circles without any actual budget to execute. Is anyone else feeling like we’re just being managed into the ground before a massive reduction? I’m seeing people spending more time on LinkedIn during the day than actually working, which I think says it all.

It is not just you. The culture has shifted from a brand-led beauty house to a cold, metrics-driven machine overnight. Leadership keeps talking about 'efficiency,' but all I see is institutional knowledge walking out the door every single week. People are terrified to speak up in meetings, and the workload is completely unsustainable. It’s reached a point where morale is effectively non-existent, and the 'innovation' they keep preaching is just a frantic attempt to mask deeper structural issues. Hang in there, but definitely keep your options open.

Honestly, the constant pivot in strategy is exhausting. Every time they announce a new initiative, the underlying message is clearly that the current staff isn't enough. We are all just waiting for the next shoe to drop while being micromanaged to death. The disconnect between the corporate buzzwords and the actual reality on the ground is widening by the day. It used to be a place where creativity mattered, but now it feels like a pressure cooker designed to burn everyone out before the next round of cuts.
