What's the severance package like if things go south?

Hey all, new to this forum but been with EL for close to 5 years in IT support. Honestly, the rumor mill has been churning about potential restructuring. While nothing's been officially announced, I'm trying to be prepared just in case. Does anyone have any experience with severance packages here? Like, what's the typical notice period, how many weeks per year of service do they usually offer, and what about benefits continuation? Is it usually tied to your tenure? I've been looking at other roles but want to have a realistic idea of what financial cushion I might have if I'm impacted. Any intel would be appreciated, even if it's just general knowledge from past reorganizations.

Hey there, totally understandable to be thinking ahead, especially with the whispers going around. While I haven't personally gone through a layoff there, I've heard from folks in other departments that EL tends to be pretty fair, though it can definitely vary. Keep an eye on official communications, but also start documenting your achievements and reach out to your network now – that's always good advice regardless of the situation. Wishing you the best and hope the rumors are just that.

Honestly, I wouldn't stress *too* much unless something official drops. Rumors fly constantly in big companies. If things *did* happen, expect it to be formulaic. They'll likely have a standard policy based on years of service, maybe a few weeks per year. Benefits continuation is usually pretty standard, often COBRA or something similar. Your best bet is to keep your resume updated and know your worth. Don't let the noise get to you unless there's actual news.
