Anyone else noticing the travel freeze?

Is it just me, or did all travel and non-essential spend get shut down overnight? I’ve been trying to get approval for a site visit that was already in the budget, and leadership is stonewalling everything. Usually, this happens right before they pull the rug out from under us to make the quarterly numbers look better for the board. My manager is being extremely tight-lipped, which honestly feels like a major red flag at this point. Last time things felt this quiet, we had the big shakeup in the T&D division. Has anyone heard anything about 'efficiency initiatives' or headcount reviews in their respective departments? The rumors are starting to swirl in the hallways, but nobody is saying anything on record. Just trying to figure out if I should start polishing the resume now or if I’m just being paranoid.

Management is acting like everything is normal, but the travel freeze is a glaring neon sign. I've been in the same boat with site visits getting blocked out of nowhere, even when the project depends on them. It’s frustrating how they pretend nothing is happening while we all watch the writing on the wall. Don't let them gaslight you into thinking this is just standard procedure; they are definitely hiding something, and the lack of transparency is standard operating procedure for this place.
