Eversource - Layoff Rumors or Just a Slowdown?

Hey everyone, been seeing some chatter about potential layoffs at Eversource lately, but nothing concrete. Anyone else hearing anything? It's tough to tell with utilities if it's just seasonal slowdowns, restructuring, or actual job cuts on the horizon. My department's been pretty quiet lately, which is unusual for this time of year. Been looking at other companies too, just in case. Trying not to panic, but the uncertainty is a killer. Anyone have any inside scoop or experiences from other utility companies that might give us a clue? Just looking for some honest insights, not trying to spread panic. Thanks for any info.

I haven't heard any direct layoff rumors, but I agree things have felt a bit slow in my area too. It's definitely concerning when the usual workflow dries up unexpectedly. I've been keeping an eye on the job boards myself, just to stay informed. Utilities can be cyclical, but it's hard to shake the feeling that something might be shifting. Hopefully, it's just a temporary lull and things pick back up soon for everyone.

That's interesting you're noticing a slowdown. I've been with Eversource for a while, and while there have been periods of slower work, this feels a bit different. Management has been pretty tight-lipped about future plans, which always adds to the anxiety. I'm hoping it's just seasonal fluctuations or a planned reorganization, but I'm also taking steps to make sure my resume is up to date. It's always better to be prepared.
