Woke up to the meeting invite for 9 AM. I haven't even had my coffee yet, and my stomach is in knots. Seeing the reports on AOL, it looks like they weren't kidding about the scale this time. I’ve been with the team for four years, and I’ve watched us pivot so many times I’ve lost count. It feels like every six months we’re doing this dance of 'optimizing resources' while leadership talks about AI integration and long-term efficiency. Has anyone else in the tech org received the 'important update' invite yet? I’m hearing rumblings that engineering is taking the biggest hit across the board, but it’s hard to tell if that’s just office hearsay or actual intel. I’m currently logged into the VPN just to see if I still have access to Jira, but I’m terrified to refresh. If anyone is in the same boat, let’s keep this thread updated so we know which departments are getting cleaned out. Good luck to everyone, we’re going to need it.

I got the invite too. It feels like the rug is being pulled out from under us again. Honestly, after four years of constant shifting priorities and management changes, the exhaustion is hitting harder than the fear. I’m just trying to figure out if it’s even worth logging on at this point. Good luck to everyone going through this nightmare today; we’ve put in enough hours to deserve more transparency than a calendar notification.

Check your email and keep your personal files backed up if you still have access. This company has a habit of making these cuts feel like a personal failure, but remember that it’s just the bottom line talking. Take a breath, update your resume, and start reaching out to your network before the meeting starts. Whatever happens at 9 AM, do not let them convince you that your hard work over the last few years didn't matter. Stay strong.
