Any updates on the 2025 headcount strategy?

Management is playing it extremely close to the vest regarding the 2025 headcount targets. We keep hearing about how we are 'right-sizing' for the current commodity price environment, but the constant small cuts are driving morale into the dirt. Two people here, a couple more there—it feels like a slow-motion exit. Is anyone getting a clearer picture from their direct managers about the Q2 or Q3 outlook? I feel like we’re being squeezed to pick up the slack for the roles that have already been eliminated, yet the budget for any real support or tools hasn't budged. It’s becoming unsustainable to keep up this pace of output when there’s a persistent fear that we’re just making ourselves easier to replace or consolidate. If you’ve heard anything regarding potential restructuring in the Upstream space, please share. Honestly, the uncertainty is worse than just knowing one way or the other at this point.

The 'right-sizing' narrative is getting exhausted. At this point, it’s just death by a thousand cuts. My manager has been completely tight-lipped about the Q2 outlook, mostly because I don’t think they even know what the next move is. We are all just picking up the slack for the headcount that left last month, and there’s no end in sight. It feels like we are waiting for the other shoe to drop every single Friday. Just assume the workload is the new normal and plan accordingly.

Look, anyone expecting transparency from leadership is setting themselves up for disappointment. That has never been how this company operates during a transition period. They’ll keep the 'commodity price environment' excuse handy until they reach whatever phantom efficiency target they’ve hidden in a spreadsheet somewhere. My advice? Stop asking for clarity that doesn’t exist. Focus on what you can control, keep your resume polished, and don't burn yourself out trying to cover for the vacancies. You’re just a line item to them.
