I was in the same boat during the Dallas layoffs. From what I’ve gathered talking to a few others, the severance packages seem to be tied heavily to tenure rather than role or department. It’s incredibly frustrating that they cut off system access so abruptly; I lost some critical contacts and project notes that I had been building for years. I’d suggest documenting everything you received and comparing it against your employment contract. If things don't match up, don't hesitate to push back. It feels like they really dropped the ball on transparency throughout this entire transition.
Honestly, the lack of communication is the most insulting part of this whole ordeal. One day you're prepping for Q3 goals, and the next you're effectively erased from the internal systems. I’m currently reviewing my severance documentation and it feels like a cookie-cutter offer that barely accounts for the reality of the market right now. You aren't the only one feeling lost; there’s a lot of us trying to figure out if there’s any room for negotiation. Keep pushing for clarity, because their current approach is leaving everyone in the dark while we’re trying to navigate our next moves.
