Anyone else noticing the post-layoff silence?

It’s been a few days since the cuts, and the office atmosphere—well, what’s left of it—is incredibly awkward. I survived this round, but the vibe is completely hollow. Everyone is keeping their heads down, Slack is eerily quiet, and nobody wants to bring up the 188 people who are gone. I feel like we’re all just waiting for the next round of shoes to drop. It’s hard to stay motivated to push code or hit deadlines when you know that loyalty means absolutely nothing here. Management gave us the usual 'we appreciate your hard work' script, but it feels so hollow when you see your desk neighbors packing up their lives in cardboard boxes. Is anyone actually feeling secure right now, or are we all just updating our resumes in secret? I’m genuinely wondering if I should jump ship now before the next purge happens. It doesn't feel like a tech company anymore, just a meat grinder.

The silence is deafening, isn't it? I’ve been through a few cycles at FICO now, and it never gets easier. The way they handle these exits—just cutting off access and leaving the rest of us to pretend it’s business as usual—is demoralizing. Don’t push yourself too hard right now. Seriously, look at your output metrics, realize they’ll never be enough to save you from a spreadsheet decision, and prioritize your mental health. Keep your resume updated and watch for the exit signs.

I honestly think the leadership team stopped caring about culture years ago. Everything is purely about the stock price and hitting quarterly targets now. It’s impossible to feel motivated when you know your colleagues were just treated like disposable overhead. If you're still there, do the bare minimum and focus on your own future. This company isn't going to look out for you, so stop worrying about meeting their arbitrary deadlines. They burned the bridge, not us.
