My FICO experience: The good, the bad, and the *concerning*

Okay, so I haven't seen any official announcements or heard definitive news about layoffs at FICO, but my personal experience lately has been...off. The workload in my team has ramped up significantly in the last couple of months, almost to a breaking point. Simultaneously, there seems to be a freeze on hiring and a general lack of clarity on future projects, which is a strange combination. I've also noticed a dip in morale overall, people seem more stressed and less communicative than usual. It feels like we're being pushed to do more with less, and the long-term vision isn't being clearly communicated. Has anyone else experienced a similar increase in pressure coupled with a feeling of stagnation or uncertainty? Is this just a temporary crunch, or does it feel like a sign of something more systemic? Would love to hear if others are seeing similar patterns or have heard any internal chatter that might explain this shift. Trying to stay objective, but the gut feeling isn't great.

I hear you on the strange vibe. My department has been feeling a similar pressure – more work, no new hires, and a general sense of 'what's next?' is pretty unsettling. It's like they're trying to do more with less, but without actually telling us the plan. Makes it hard to stay motivated when you're constantly running on fumes and wondering if your role is even secure long-term. Definitely a weird atmosphere to be working in.
