Stock price is ATH but morale is at rock bottom

It’s genuinely bizarre watching FICO hit these record highs while everyone on the floor looks like they’re waiting for the other shoe to drop. We’re pushing out code, hitting targets, and the stock is printing money, but the leadership vibes are just… off. There’s no transparency, just more buzzwords about 'strategic alignment' and 'operational efficiency' whenever someone asks a real question in the all-hands. I’ve seen this script before at other tech firms. When the stock is doing this well but the culture starts feeling this sterile and anxious, it’s usually because they’re prepping the books to justify 'synergies' or 'cost optimization' for the next quarterly guidance. If things are so great, why does it feel like I’m walking on eggshells every time a manager schedules a recurring meeting on a Friday afternoon? Is anyone actually seeing real reinvestment in our teams, or are we just squeezing the lemon until it’s dry?

That’s classic FICO culture at this point. They care about the shareholders and the share price, but they’ve completely lost touch with the engineers actually building the product. The disconnect between the stock performance and the internal reality is unsustainable. When the leadership stops valuing the talent and starts obsessing over margins and corporate buzzwords, it’s only a matter of time before the top performers start polishing their resumes. Don't wait for the shoe to drop—just keep an eye on the exit.

I honestly think the leadership team is just drinking their own Kool-Aid. It’s easy to ignore morale when the stock price keeps climbing, but eventually, the brain drain will catch up to them. I’ve noticed the same shift in tone—everything feels like a scripted PR event now rather than an actual discussion. It’s a shame because the tech is solid, but if you don't feel like a person instead of a line item on an 'operational efficiency' spreadsheet, why stay? Time to look for somewhere that actually respects its people.
