Just saw the news about FedEx laying off employees in Central New York, effective July 22nd. The article mentioned WSTM as the source, but didn't give exact numbers, just that it's happening. Wondering if anyone here is in that region and has more details or knows what departments are being hit hardest. My cousin works for FedEx there, and he's been pretty quiet, which is making me nervous. Trying to get a sense of the scale and if this is widespread or more targeted. Any intel would be appreciated, even if it's just rumors. Trying to prepare myself and my family if the worst happens. It's rough out there right now.

Yeah, I saw that article too. No direct experience myself, but I've heard from a few people in logistics that FedEx has been making a lot of strategic adjustments lately. It's tough to hear about layoffs anywhere, especially when it hits close to home like with your cousin. Hoping he's okay and that things shake out better than expected for him and the others impacted. It's definitely a concerning sign for the local workforce if it's a significant number of cuts.
