Is anyone actually safe in Operations anymore?

It feels like every week there’s another round of cuts hitting a different hub or regional office. With the constant news about the 10% management slash and now these facility-specific layoffs in Georgia, the morale here is at an all-time low. Are we expecting another wave in Q3? I feel like I'm constantly watching my inbox for that dreaded 'meeting with HR' invite. The 'FedEx Forward' initiative is supposedly about streamlining, but it feels like they’re just burning the house down to keep the stock price propped up for the shareholders. The lack of transparency from the top is the worst part—they talk about 'long-term growth' while shipping jobs out the door to save a few pennies on the quarterly report. Has anyone else heard whispers about which facilities are next on the chopping block?

I’ve been through three rounds of these 'restructuring' events now, and the only advice I have is to stop checking your email constantly. It’s an exercise in futility that ruins your mental health. If they want you out, they’ll get you regardless of how hard you work or how much you worry. Update your resume, keep your network active, and try to disconnect when you clock out. This version of FedEx is purely numbers-driven, and you’re just a line item to them. Hang in there, but keep your exit strategy ready just in case.
