Just saw the official WARN notice for the 6720 Oakley Industrial Blvd location in Georgia. It’s official: 326 people are getting the boot as of April 8th. I know there have been rumors floating around about facility consolidations and 'network optimization' for a while now, but seeing the actual number on paper is brutal. My heart goes out to everyone in the Union City loop right now. I’ve been through a reorg at FedEx before and the way leadership frames these layoffs as 'efficiency' while they push for higher margins is insulting. Does anyone know if they are offering any severance or if it’s just the bare minimum? Stay strong, everyone. Update your resumes tonight and reach out to your networks. This company doesn't care about tenure or loyalty anymore.

It is honestly sickening to watch them call this 'network optimization' while people's lives are being turned upside down. I’ve seen this script play out so many times across different hubs. They treat us like line items on a spreadsheet, sacrificing loyal staff to prop up the bottom line before the next earnings call. My thoughts go out to everyone in Union City—stay strong and make sure you fight for every bit of severance and support you’re owed. Take care of each other during this mess.

I was expecting some consolidation, but seeing the actual headcount impact is jarring. This corporate speak about efficiency is just a hollow way to mask the reality of the situation. At the end of the day, it is about keeping shareholders happy at the expense of the people who actually keep the trucks moving. If you’re affected, try to network as much as you can right now—there are often internal channels or local logistics groups that might help bridge the gap. Don't let them make you feel like this is a personal failure.
