Hey everyone, been with Fifth Third for a few years now and things have felt... different recently. Saw the 'efficiency' chatter but it feels like more than just buzzwords. Been hearing more whispers about restructuring, especially in some of the back-office areas. My team hasn't had anyone let go directly, but the workload has definitely increased and there's a definite chill in the air regarding new hires. Feels like they're trying to do more with less, which often leads to painful decisions down the line. Anyone else in a similar boat or hearing anything concrete about potential impacts? Trying to gauge if this is widespread or just specific departments. Curious to hear what others are seeing/feeling.

Yeah, I'm picking up on that too. It's not just the workload increase, it's the overall sense of uncertainty. Management seems tight-lipped about the specifics, which just fuels the speculation. Heard some similar things about departments consolidating and a general freeze on non-essential spending. Makes you wonder what the long-term strategy really is beyond just cutting costs.

Totally get what you're saying. The 'efficiency' talk has been loud, but the reality on the ground feels more like a resource crunch. My department's seen a few folks move to different roles internally, which is fine, but the impact on the remaining team is noticeable. Hoping it's a temporary phase and not the start of something more significant. Stay safe out there.
