Fifth Third - How's the hiring market looking internally?

So, I've been poking around internal job boards at Fifth Third and it feels like there are way fewer openings than usual, especially for roles that typically have steady turnover. Combined with the hiring freeze on external candidates that seems to be in effect for many departments, I'm wondering if this is a sign of things to come. Are people seeing fewer opportunities to move around internally? Is management communicating anything about future hiring plans, or is it just radio silence? I know we haven't had any official layoff announcements, but this slowdown in internal mobility and external hiring is making me a bit uneasy.
