Fifth Third Bancorp - Anyone else feeling the jitters?

Hey everyone, just checking in to see if anyone else at 5/3 is picking up on the same whispers. No official word on layoffs, but the vibe feels… off lately. Been noticing a lot more 'reorgs' and 'efficiency drives' popping up in internal comms. Seems like every department is being scrutinized. Just had a few team meetings where the focus was heavily on cost-saving measures and 'streamlining operations.' It's making me nervous, especially with the current economic climate. Anyone else in tech, ops, or even front-line roles hearing similar things or seeing changes in project scope/funding? Trying to gauge if it's just my department or a broader trend across the bank. Would love to hear what others are experiencing.

Yeah, I've definitely picked up on that too. The 'efficiency' talk has been pretty constant, and it feels like it's ramping up. It's hard to shake the feeling that something's brewing under the surface, even without direct announcements. The constant focus on cost-cutting across the board definitely makes you wonder what the long-term plan really is for staffing levels. Fingers crossed it's just standard business cycle stuff, but the unease is palpable.

Totally agree, the general atmosphere has been a bit tense. It's that feeling of uncertainty that gets to you. The internal messaging about 'streamlining' and 'optimization' is a bit of a buzzword bingo, and it's hard not to interpret that as a precursor to potential workforce adjustments. It's a stressful time to be in the corporate world, and 5/3 doesn't feel immune to the broader economic pressures everyone is facing.
