FE - Budget cuts and hiring freezes?

Hearing whispers through the grapevine about stricter budget controls and a general slowdown in hiring across several departments at FirstEnergy. It's not official, no one's gotten a pink slip that I know of, but the word on the street is that new positions aren't being filled as quickly, and some discretionary spending is being heavily scrutinized. Feels like a precursor to something, though what exactly is unclear. Is anyone else's team experiencing a hiring freeze or seeing travel/training budgets slashed?
