Been at FE for a few years now, and lately, things just feel... tight. Budgets seem leaner, projects are getting pushed back, and there's a general air of 'doing more with less.' I'm not hearing any specific layoff rumors, but the vibe isn't exactly booming either. Anyone else in operations or engineering noticing the same kind of resource constraints? Are you guys seeing similar impacts on project timelines or team capacity? Wondering if it's a company-wide thing or just my department feeling the squeeze. Feels like the 'optimizing' continues, but the output isn't always there. Just trying to gauge if this is the new normal or if others are seeing something more concrete.

Yeah, I've felt that squeeze too, especially over the last year or so. It's definitely not just your department. We're seeing projects getting re-prioritized constantly, and getting approvals for new equipment or even just essential supplies takes forever. It feels like every dollar is being scrutinized, which makes it tough to do the job effectively when you're already stretched thin. Hope things ease up soon.

Totally. Operations here has been dealing with a lot of 'efficiency drives' lately, which translates to fewer people doing more work. Project timelines are definitely suffering because we're constantly firefighting and don't have the bandwidth for proactive work. It's frustrating, and you can tell morale is taking a hit when everyone feels like they're running on fumes. Curious to see if management addresses these resource issues openly.
