FirstEnergy - Anyone else feeling the pressure?

Hey all, been with FE for a few years now and lately, things just feel... tense. We've had a lot of internal 'efficiency' talks and some departments are definitely feeling the squeeze. Management keeps talking about adapting to the changing energy landscape and investing in new tech, which sounds good on paper, but it also makes me wonder what that means for headcount. Performance reviews just wrapped up and the feedback felt a little more pointed than usual, less about development and more about hitting specific metrics. Just wanted to see if anyone else is picking up on similar vibes or if it's just my department. Curious to hear what others are hearing or experiencing on the ground. Trying not to spiral but it's hard not to when you see the gears turning.

Yeah, I've noticed the vibe shifting too. The 'efficiency' drive seems to be translating into some serious workload increases for those of us still here. It's hard not to worry about job security when you hear about restructuring and new tech investments constantly. Fingers crossed it doesn't lead to more cuts.

Totally get what you're saying. The performance review felt like a different ballgame this year, more scrutiny and less 'how can we help you grow?' It's a tough climate right now, and the constant talk of 'adaptation' makes you wonder if you're adapting fast enough, or if your role is even part of the future plan.
