FirstEnergy - Feeling the economic pressure? What's the vibe?

Hey everyone, Just wanted to see if anyone else is feeling a bit uneasy at FE lately. No concrete news, but the general economic climate feels like it's starting to trickle down. We all know how sensitive utilities can be to rate changes and energy demand. Anyone hearing whispers about budget tightening or projects being put on hold? I've noticed a few more 'efficiency' meetings lately, which usually makes me nervous. Wondering if it's just me or if others are picking up on something similar. Trying not to panic, but want to be prepared if things start to shift. Curious to hear what others are seeing or hearing, especially in different departments. Is it just the usual Q4 budget crunch, or is there something more significant brewing? Let's keep it factual, if possible.

Yeah, I've definitely felt a shift too. Those efficiency meetings are making me sweat a little, honestly. It's like the atmosphere is just a bit more tense than usual. Haven't heard anything concrete about layoffs or major project cuts, but you can just feel the uncertainty in the air. Makes you wonder what’s really going on behind the scenes. Hope it's just a temporary dip.

Interesting you mention the economic pressure. While I haven't seen any direct signs of trouble like budget cuts yet, I do agree the overall mood feels a bit more cautious. Our department's been asked to re-evaluate some spending, which is unusual for this time of year. It's probably just good business practice, but I can see how it might make people a bit nervous given the current economic climate.
