Fiserv - My team's workload has suddenly tripled.

Okay, so maybe this is just me being paranoid, but has anyone else's team suddenly seen a massive spike in workload without any new hires or clear directives? My manager keeps saying 'streamlining' and 'optimizing,' but honestly, it feels like we're just picking up the slack from people who are no longer here, or roles that are being eliminated. We've lost two key members in the last quarter, and their responsibilities have been absorbed by the remaining handful of us. The pressure is intense, and the expectation to deliver the same output, if not more, is ridiculous. It's leading to burnout and a lot of frustration. Just wondering if this is a common theme or if I'm in a particularly bad spot. This doesn't feel like 'optimization,' it feels like quiet culling.

I've definitely felt this at Fiserv lately. It's like they're expecting the same output with fewer people, and the 'streamlining' talk feels more like a cover for cost-cutting. The constant pressure is exhausting, and it makes it hard to focus on doing good work when you're just trying to keep your head above water. It’s not sustainable long-term, and I’m seeing a lot of burnout starting to creep in.

That sounds incredibly familiar. We've been experiencing something similar on my team. The 'optimizing' jargon is rampant, but the reality is we're stretched incredibly thin. It feels like a deliberate strategy to increase efficiency through attrition, which is tough on those of us left behind. I worry about the quality of our work suffering under this kind of pressure, and the impact on morale is palpable.
